Children are welcomed into the school from their transport by the friendly faces of both the class and pastoral teams. There is an opportunity to regulate from the travel time in the classroom and settle in for the day. Children can change their shoes into plimsolls or slippers if they wish.

The school day begins with a family-style breakfast where children are encouraged to sit together and share conversation on subjects that interest them. As part of the Greggs Breakfast scheme, children have access to toast and cereal before beginning lessons. Children usually start the day with phonics, English and Maths.

All children will have access to a morning break at a time that works for them. They will have access to a snack during this time and are able to go outside if they wish. 

Children will return to learning after their break to continue with core lessons as well as time to work on their EHCP targets. They also have access to daily sensory circuits and specialist PE lessons during this time. 

Children are invited to eat their lunch in the hall to promote relationships across the school. After eating children have access to games and toys both in the classroom and in the outside space. 

After lunch, children return to the classroom for 10 minutes of calming time. This could be mindfulness activities or relaxing in a low-sensory environment to prepare for the afternoon ahead.
