As part of the consultation period, Kings Meadow will work closely with the current provision and the local authority to build a profile of the child so that we can ensure the transition goes smoothly.

We will allocate a class for the child and if the family have not visited already, they will be invited for a tour.

Once the placement has been confirmed, the transition information pack and school brochure will be sent to you. There will be a bespoke transition plan based on the needs of the child arranged for induction, including a short ‘taster’ session.

Transition from Kings Meadow

Once the Year 7 places have been agreed, Kings Meadow School will work closely with the new provision to ensure a positive transition.

This could include staff from the new placement visiting the child at Kings Meadow, as well as Kings Meadow staff supporting children in the new placement.

There will also be a transition time with the new school, where the child attends unaccompanied by the staff at Kings Meadow.
