The family support worker at Kings Meadow can provide the following services:
- Support for families, parents, carers and children
- Enable parents and children to discuss any concerns or worries. When required, signpost to services, resources and local information.
- Liaise with other professionals regarding safeguarding concerns and external support services available.
- When required, make safeguarding referrals and attend relevant follow-up meetings.
- Monitor and allocate safeguarding concerns within school. Ensure actions are met by either the family support worker or other staff members. Conducting weekly safeguarding meetings to keep track of concern patterns and referrals.
- Liaise with other schools regarding safeguarding the handover of children leaving or joining Kings Meadow.
- Attend termly safeguarding briefings to keep up to date with current issues.
- Provide a school holiday ‘on-call ‘ system and conduct welfare phone calls to families.
- When required, compile and lead early help assessments (EHAs). This would also include conducting 'voice of the child' work.
- Attend various meetings to support families, whether this is with social care, strengthening families and/or other professionals.
