Kings Meadow School has received some extra festive cheer and support this Christmas thanks to donations made by Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
The homebuilder collected donations at its Northampton head office, where employees stepped up and generously supplied a toy for every pupil at the school from their Christmas list.
Kings Meadow School, part of Creating Tomorrow Trust, is a special school which caters for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties, including associated challenging behaviours.
Peter Georgou, Head of School at Kings Meadow School, said: “We have been truly blown away by the generosity of staff at Barratt and David Wilson Homes. The children have been beyond excited to have an unexpected visit from Father Christmas. We cannot thank them enough for the amazing gifts.”
The contribution made by Barratt and David Wilson Homes forms part of the home builder’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities around where it builds.
Earlier this year, a team of volunteers from Barratt and David Wilson Homes spent several days painting classrooms, refreshing the school’s sensory rooms, and many other essential tasks Kings Meadow School drastically needed, on top of a £2,000 donation.
Simon Francis, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “Christmas is such a special time for giving and we are proud to support Kings Meadow School again in its efforts to bring festive cheer to pupils.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated. It truly was heartwarming to see the collections fill up, thanks to the generosity of our amazing team.”
